Taita Chavo: Arpista Extraordinario!
Taita Chavo is the last of his kind in this area. He plays the Spanish Harp, an
instrument introduced to the Otavalo area by the Jesuit missionaries several
hundred years ago. The Harp evolved into an important element of all Indigenous celebrations; marriages, baptisms, deaths and so on. This is some raw footage of a video I am making about Taita Chavo and a disappearing art. Subtitles will be included in the final video.
